Looking for something to engage your children this summer? You can find great literature to suit all ages and interests at the Cooperative Children’s Book Center (CCBC) web site. The organization yearly creates a diverse list of titles that offers something for everyone–as well as a list that reflects the many and varied experiences of identities of children and teens today.

Parents, educators, and—of course—children benefit from the CCBC’s outstanding titles for youth from birth through high-school age. Organized by categories (Science, Technology, and the Natural World; Books for Newly Independent Readers; Fiction for Young Adults; etc.), the CCBC’s annual Choices is cross-referenced and provides a window into current publishing trends.

According to its introduction, among the 258 titles found in Choices 2019 are books that are funny and books that broke the reviewers’ hearts, books that inform and books that entertain.

The complete Choices catalogs throughout the years include summaries and commentary about each selection. However, the basic lists and information about the CCBC are readily available online at https://ccbc.education.wisc.edu/books/choices.asp.
